Frequently Asked Questions

What services do you offer?

We are a general dental practice that offers all dental procedures either directly through our practice or indirectly through local dental specialists. There are times that a patient's treatment plan may be too complex or out of the scope of general dentistry. In these cases, we can refer patients to our network of specialists that we trust and share the same philosophy with.

What insurances do you take?

We take all PPO dental insurances. Please contact us if you have questions regarding how your insurance works.

Unfortunately, we do not take HMO, DMO, or DentiCal.

How can I afford my treatment?

If you don't have PPO insurance or you are trying to find ways to cover the difference between your treatment cost and insurance payment, we offer CareCredit. You can receive an instant decision and up to 2 years of no-interest payments depending on the treatment plan cost. We also offer an in-office membership plan, ask us for details!

We truly believe that finances should not get in the way of achieving good oral health. We will always provide you with alternative treatment plans that are more affordable than the ideal treatment plan. We will work with you in finding a balance between affordability and sustainable oral health.

I have a dental emergency. Can I be seen right away?

At this time, we are unable to offer emergency dental treatment outside of our regular business hours. If you are having a dental emergency outside of business hours, please leave us a voicemail and we will try and respond as soon as possible. If you would like to be seen during our business hours, please call us right away and we will try and add you to the schedule for the next available time slot.

I just want a cleaning. Can I still come in just for that?

If you do not have a main concern and would just like a cleaning, you can sign up for a regular check-up and cleaning appointment. Instead of a full comprehensive exam, we will do a shorter version. The exam may not address all underlying issues that you may have, but will help you maintain your teeth at an acceptable level. After the exam, a regular cleaning can be done as well. However, if you will be needing a deep cleaning or any additional procedures, another appointment may be needed.

Keep in mind that a lot of dental issues are not painful, which tricks the patient into thinking that everything is okay. However, the truth is, by the time you feel pain, usually we are at a very serious state where we will need invasive treatment such as a root canal, extractions, or gum surgery. It is in your best interest to invest in some time at the beginning with a comprehensive exam to decrease more dental visits with expensive treatment later on.

Whitening appointments can be done with just a limited exam if that is all you wish to have done. However, if there is a high level of plaque or staining on your teeth, we may recommend you to do a cleaning prior to teeth whitening.

My tooth/teeth doesn't hurt. Why do I have a list of things that need to be fixed as part of my treatment plan?

Many dental issues do not come with pain. Dental pain is most often one of the last efforts of your body telling you something is very wrong. At City of Angels, we use low radiation x-rays and high quality photographs of your teeth to show you problem areas and we will always take the time to discuss with you our findings, risks and benefits of treatment vs. no treatment, and treatment options. We pride ourselves in being honest and compassionate, but in the end, any treatment decision is yours to make.
