It’s Time to Love Your Smile

Invisalign® offers one of the most advanced and convenient options for adult orthodontic treatments.

The Invisalign® system straightens your teeth with custom-made alignment trays made of a clear, thin, medical- grade polymer that is virtually invisible when worn. Since they are removable, you can eat, brush and floss normally.

Invisalign® can give you great results with fewer dental appointments and less treatment time, at about the same or less cost as traditional metal braces.

City of Angeles Dentistry is a Certified Invisalign® Dentist Provider. Make your move and schedule an appointment for your free Invisalign Consultation.

The Clear Advantage

You can take out Invisalign® trays at any point during the day — while you’re eating, brushing your teeth, or flossing.

The clear plastic Invisalign trays are virtually invisible! 🕵️‍♀️ Most people won’t even notice that you’re wearing them, so there will be minimal social embarrassment or anxiety as you will still be able to smile with confidence. Teeth straightening without embarrassment!

Am I a candidate for Invisalign?

In order to determine if you are a candidate for Invisalign, impressions are made of your mouth at our dental office and are then sent to the laboratory to be analyzed.

Once the results are completed, Dr. Kevin Chin and you can view the potential end result and determine if Invisalign is the correct means to straighten your teeth. At this state, we will be able to approximate the length of your treatment time. Throughout the entire treatment process, you will have quick regular appointments about every six weeks to ensure that your teeth are aligning properly.

Does insurance cover Invisalign?

If you have dental insurance with orthodontic coverage, you might be eligible for partial reimbursement from your dental insurance. After your consultation, we will submit for pre-approval to your insurance company if you are interested in proceeding with treatment. It typically takes 2-3 weeks to get pre-approval from your insurance.

How much does Invisalign Cost?

Depending on severity, time, and how many trays your treatment will require, the cost of Invisalign can range from $3,200 to over $8,500.

We offer several payment options patients like interest-free financing through CareCredit or payment plans offered through Square Installments. You may be able to use the pre-tax dollars in your flexible spending account (FSA) or health savings account (HSA) toward Invisalign treatment.

Some things to know about Invisalign® before you start treatment:

  • The Treatment Plan may adjust as we evaluate your progress and tooth movement

We can give you a rough estimate of how many months the treatment will take, but these are just estimates.  If your teeth are not aligning correctly, we may need to re-evaluate your plan and lengthen (or maybe even shorten) your treatment plan.  But there is a good chance that treatment might take a little longer than expected. We want to make sure that you have the perfect bite and that your end result will be amazing.

  • There might be some discomfort or soreness, especially when you switch trays

Some patients report feelings of slight discomfort when they first start treatment or when they switch to the next tray in their plan.  This is expected. The soreness shouldn’t last too long or happen every day. Some patients have suggested switching trays at bed time, allowing them to sleep through some of the discomfort.

  • You’re going to really need to wear the trays for 22 hours a day, for reals

Not much to this, but Invisalign trays only work for as long as you wear them.  If you do not wear your trays full time, you can prolong your treatment time and not see results as quickly as you would like.

  • Pack a travel toothbrush with you, you’ll need to brush your teeth throughout the day

Any time you eat drink non-clear cold liquid or food, you will need to remove your tray.  But do not put the tray back into your mouth without first flossing and brushing. If you do not brush and floss after every meal, food and drink particles can discolor your alignment tray and can cause complications.

  • Only cold liquids for you: plastic trays and hot liquids do not mix well

If you need your hot morning coffee or tea, take out your aligner.  And of course, you will need to brush your teeth after drinking, otherwise you might also run the risk of leftover coffee or tea staining or discoloring your aligner. Trust us, a yellow-ish aligner is not cute.

  • Don’t clean your aligners with toothpaste

Some ingredients in toothpaste may be too abrasive for the trays and may also discolor your tray.  Use a mild detergent instead, we can point in the right direction of some safe to use soaps.

  • Brackets and Rubber bands might be required

Depending on your treatment plan, we may need to attach brackets to some of your teeth to assist the movement of your teeth.  Some teeth need more work to move than others, and that is what brackets are for. In other situations, rubber bands may also be required to help move teeth to their new home.

  • Speaking of Brackets, they can stain with coffee and tea

Notice a pattern of us giving you a ton of warnings about discoloring trays? This also applies to brackets.  They can also be stained by coffee, tea, wine, and other non-clear liquids. What to do? We cannot stress this enough, brush and floss after you drink to help prevent yellowing/discoloration.

  • Is all this work worth it?! ABSOLUTELY

Invisalign is definitely going to change your lifestyle throughout the treatment.  But it will change your life afterwards. All the hard work and commitment you put into caring for your teeth as they move will pay off in dividends once treatment is over. Take the leap, let’s talk about getting you your dream smile.
